Unfortunately the Council has been notified by the contractor who empties the paper bank that they can only continue with this service by changing the current collection system.

This would mean the use of 1100 litre wheeled bins which would be provided by them free of charge. They would however need to be collected on a fortnightly basis at a cost of £6 per bin, per fortnightly empty.

This would mean an annual charge of £156 per bin with any contaminated bins incurring a charge of £20 per bin to be emptied.

The income currently being generated per annum from paper is just £70 and therefore the Council has made the decision to remove the paper bank.

Paper and newspapers/magazines can be recycled in your blue bin.

Should circumstances change then the situation will be reconsidered.
