Transport Options in the Village

Connecting Communities – https://communities.suffolkonboard.com/about/

Demand Responsive Transport
Demand Responsive Transport service, provides connections to bus and train links in rural areas. If there are no suitable connections we may well be able to offer you an end to end journey. The service is available to the general public, operating Monday to Saturday 7am until 7pm. All journeys must be pre-booked

Door to Door Transport – previously Dial a Ride
We operate wheelchair accessible minibuses vehicles covering Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and surrounding villages. We offer an affordable door to door service for those who “find it difficult to use public transport”, passengers will need to register and become a member.
The service operates Monday to Friday.

Community Car Service
We have a team of volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles to assist passengers to undertake journeys that would perhaps not be possible on the Dial a ride service, the more individual journeys. Community Car Service often enables passengers to attend Hospital Appointments, visit relatives in hospital, attend therapy centres and other personal business. Passengers are charged for the service, please speak to us for further information regarding individual journeys.

Group Hire
Vehicles are available for use by voluntary groups for Group Hire. We may be able to provide a driver or alternatively you may wish to nominate your own. Drivers must have a D1 on their licence, copy to be provided. All drivers will need to complete MiDAS training

If patients are struggling with transport please encourage them to simply give us a call, we will do our best to direct them to a potential solution.
