New - Stanton 30mph limit now in force

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF STANTON) (A143 BURY ROAD) (30 MPH AND 40 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND REVOCATION) ORDER 2022

On the 9 March 2022 Suffolk County Council made the above-named order for Stanton under Section 84(1) (a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The effect of this would be to reduce the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on Bury Road from the existing 40mph speed limit signs at the western end of the village for 1220 metres in an easterly direction, and to introduce a 40mph speed limit buffer from the existing 40mph speed limit outside of ‘Morningside’ for 390 metres in a south westerly direction.

A copy of the order, Which comes into effect on the 14 March 2022, together with a copy of the Council’s reasons for this proposal, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Monday – Friday; also at Bury St Edmunds Library, Sergeants Walk, St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday; and 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

If anyone wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of the Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
